Byrna Pepper Projectiles are filled with 5% Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), delivering one of the most powerful all-natural pepper-based defenses available. Designed to incapacitate threats quickly, these projectiles provide an effective, less-lethal option for personal and home defense without the risks of lethal force.

Immediate Physical Effects:

✔ Intense burning sensation in the throat and eyes
✔ Uncontrollable coughing and gagging
✔ Shortness of breath and respiratory distress
✔ Temporary disorientation and loss of focus

Formulated for maximum stopping power, these projectiles help you react confidently in critical situations. Whether you're protecting your ‘ohana, home, or personal space, Byrna gives you peace of mind island-wide.

Do I need a permit or background check?

No. Byrna launchers are not classified as firearms. No permit or background check required in Hawaii. You must be 18 or older.

Can I carry it?

Hawaii does not allow open carry of launchers. Most owners keep one at home, in the car, or carry concealed in a holster. Know your local rules before you carry.

Can you ship to Maui or the Big Island?

Yes. Launchers, projectiles and accessories ship to every island for $24.99. CO2 and pepper spray cannot fly, so buy those locally.

Can I try one before I buy?

Yes. Visit the Waipahu shop or book a demo. Buy online and pick up in store, and we will walk you through loading and handling.

Which CO2 does my launcher take?

8-gram: CL, SD, EP, HD, LE Short Barrel. 12-gram: CL XL, LE, TCR, SDXL, HDXL, and SD/EP/HD with the Boost adapter. 88-gram: Mission 4.

What should I keep loaded?

Many owners keep a kinetic round first and pepper rounds behind it. Store projectiles sealed and dry; never leave pepper or Max rounds in a hot car.

What is the difference between the SD and LE?

The LE is more powerful (about 330 fps vs 280 fps), uses 12-gram CO2 and has a lighter trigger. The SD is smaller and uses 8-gram CO2.
